Our Ministry for the Children
Calvary
Home for Childrens mission is to rescue children from abuse and
neglect by providing them with help and hope through a stable
family environment. There are approximately 350 children
in Anderson Countys Foster Care System; 6,000 across our state
and 500,000 nationally and there is a critical shortage of
places for these kids to live. It takes over three years
for these children to either make their way back home or be
adopted. Where will they go in the mean time?
Calvary Home is meeting a significant community need through our
service to children ages birth through 21 from Anderson County
and beyond. Our goal is to keep siblings together and to
give every child we encounter the best opportunity to reach his
or her God-given potential.
Our
current programs include providing guidance and nurture to the
children through qualified, godly, full-time house parents.
At Calvary Home, we seek to create a loving environment that
replicates the traditional Christian family structure. The
children in our care are supported in their involvement in the
local school system, church activities, summer camps, special
outings, and ongoing opportunities for social engagement and
growth.

The need? Approximately 350 kids are in the foster care
system in Anderson County alone (6,000 in South Carolina) and
there is a critical shortage of foster care families.
Calvary Home seeks to meet the urgent need of rescuing children
who have been orphaned, abused, neglected or abandoned.
We specialize in providing this help by offering our kids a
safe, structured, Christian home with full-time house parents
who are committed to raising the next generation for Jesus
Christ.
We seek to keep siblings together thats why we are licensed
through the Department of Social Services to keep kids birth
through age 21.
As funds become available to hire and keep
up to 12 more children, we will re-open the Stephanie Carter
Cottage. It takes $100,000 per cottage per year to make
this happen.
We have house parents that are
ready to immediately move in and begin receiving children.
Without adequate, sustaining funds we cannot go forward.
Calvary Home provides counseling, support, love and hope for
children who need our help. Our kids are involved with their
local school, church groups and sports teams.
